"We need more horses, and you know it. So what I will do is give you about $70,000 to go get us a new horse, and make sure its a very nice horse, that will do good for natural horsemanship," said Sloane as she sat in the office with her friend. A new arrival at the barn, Marianne is a long-time friend (who needs a reff ASAP) and an amazing horse person. "Sure, just give me 3 days with a trailer and I will find something!" She grabbed the keys and skipped out of the office, barn dogs following. Sloane sank back in her seat, "oh dear...what have I done" she muttered.
4 days later, Sloane was just getting back from a trail ride with Humble, when a trailer came rolling down the road. Sloane smiled, Marianne completed her mission. But the smile quickly vanished when she heard horse screams and kicks coming from the trailer. Humble looked up with an "oh shit" look on his face. The car stopped and out hopped Marianne. Sloane cantered over and said "WHAT DID YOU DO." "What? You told me to get you a horse!" "I told you to get a calm horse. What are those noises from the back?!" "Oh, you mean Scott!! Well I was driving along a farm road when I saw him in the pasture. I walked up and watched him. The barn owner came out of nowhere and offered him to me FOR FREE!! So I asked the barn owner to load him up, and he asked me to wait in the truck so I couldn't see, and I just heard a bunch of shouting and neighs. The barn owner came back to me, a little ragged and limping, and said I was good to go. Soooooo you have a free horse, and you get to keep the $70,000! " Sloane just sank into Humble's mane. "You bought a crazy horse...ok, I want you to drive into that pasture there and close the gate, then let him out. I'll help" Sloane hopped off Humble and tied him to the fence. She opened the gate and let Marianne in the truck through. Sloane walked into the pasture, and carefully opened the trailer. Out flew an enraged chestnut stallion, screaming his head off, and bucking like crazy. Sloane quickly closed the trailer door and jumped into the truck, next to a very sheepish looking Marianne. "Well my dear, since you bought him, you are in charge of training him! " Marianne's face went pale white. "You are crazy! I can't train that thing!!" "Well guess what, you have to, or you sell him." Marianne pouted"ok...."

Other: Basically given to the barn, passed from owner to desperate owner, this horse is bad to the bone. He is very tricky to handle, and is not for beginners. We haven't even tried riding him, and we mostly keep him out in the pasture. When he is in his stall, he is kicking and screaming the whole time, much to the irritation of the other more calm stallions. We are highly thinking of gelding him, but his conformation and colour is so amazing that it would kill us to do so. But we will decide later if it is the best thing for him.
He is part Thoroughbred, part Arabian, so he has lots of height, and this picture doesn't really show how long he is.
We have no idea what we will be able to use him for, but when we first turn him out in the pasture, he works like he would do very well in a liberty class.
